The Process

Artist Statement

Danielle Del Pizzo is a New Jersey based artist whose work grows from personal experiences and challenges past norms and idealizations within society.  She creates pieces that grapple with the constant evolution of cultural norms, specifically the role of women in society.

The creative process begins on an intimate scale with small sketches or drawings using ink and watercolor, and from there she develops a bigger composition. The final pieces utilize different media ranging from acrylic paint, oil paint, collage and digital painting. An essential part of the artwork is the use of color and design elements to capture a specific feeling or impression. Often her work includes text, old magazine clippings, and creative color use.

Danielle is an art educator and dedicates her time to showing children of all ages how art can be utilized as a way to express themselves.
